| Text | Yes this is the right house, looks like the new owners have made some changes to the exterior. I rode past there when in Brookhaven in Jan as I always check on it when I visit. My 2nd cousin, Peter Rankin, lived there till he sold it to the present owners so I used to visit and enjoy being in the house once in a while. My Grandmother called it Fireplace Inn and would take in summer guests My parents were married in that living room. The east side of the house off the living room used to be a sun room with all windows. All of the property around the house belonged to the Smith family at one time. I did have the papers that showed the land boundries but gave them to Peter when he was owner, thinking they should stay with the house. Now that he has sold I hope maybe he left them with the present owners. If you know them perhaps you could check that out if interested. Flo, at Post Morrow has the early pictures of the house or if you want I can send them. I don't have any luck or skill in emailing pictures I can't seem to make it work. Hopefully when my son comes he will help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. But I can copy and send snail mail. I have mastered that.( well almost) Joyce | |
