I've been tracking some of the Budds and this Elizabeth could not have been the mother of John Budd4's children because: From her gravestone: In Memory of Mrs. Elizabeth BUDD, Wife of Mr. John BUDD, formerly Wife of ye Hon'ble Samuel HUTCHINSON Esqr, who died 11 Apr 1751 in ye 71st Year of Her Age. So she was born Cal. 1680. By the time she married John Budd in 1744/5, she was too old to have had children by him. The mother of his children is Hannah. Salmon Records: Jan 8 1737 Col. Sm Hutchinson at 12 or one at night. 64 June 22, 1743 Mr. John Budd's wife Hannah [A]pril 11, 1751 Mr. John Budds wife Elesath. 70. Feb. 20 , 1753 Mr. John Budd aged 66. "Mr. Jn Bud & Wid Elesabeth Hutchinso[n]. [marriage from Salmont Records] This is between entries for Dec 1744 and May 7 1745, and the date is not known. There is a small gap in the records here. See LI Source Records by H, Hoff. p.267. This was John Budd4, son of John3 and Hester, grandson of John2 and Mary Horton, g-grandson of John and Catteren. John Budd 4 was born in 1687 and died 20 Feb. 1753 leaving a will which names his children. Hope this helps! Anne Winters | |
