| Text | Cutter's Genealogical and Family History of Central NY is in ERROR in stating that Nathaniel who m. Anna Long was the son of Abel (5), 1722-1792. That Abel never married. The Nathaniel (6), 1755- ca 1805, who m. 2nd, Anna Long, was the son of Nathaniel and Anna Baldwin. One of the most compelling indications that this is correct is that Nathaniel and Anna named a son Baldwin, b. 1784 Dec 27, for his mother's maiden name. This is one of only two Baldwin Merrills in our database of over 60,000 Merrill males, plus wives and daughters. Nathaniel (6) is believed to have m. 1st, Submit Phipps.
