  Text	This document, a report by the trustees of the Brookhaven Methodist church in Brookhaven hamlet, is believed to be a master list of all interments at the old Methodist Cemetery on Beaver Dam road, Brookhaven, NY, prior to their removal to other cemeteries, mostly to the Oaklawn Cemetery, Brookhaven, NY.  The old Methodist cemetery was identified as #51 on the Town of Brookhaven Historian's master inventory of cemeteries (about 1939).  Unfortunately, since the removal of the gravesites at the old Methodist cemetery to the newly established Oaklawn cemetery were among the first there, the records of the Oaklawn cemetery are ambiguous in many cases as to which bodies were actually reinterred there, and which may have been reinterred elsewhere.  As the location of graves at the Oaklawn cemetery are positively identified, their location lot number is indicated in parenthesis on this transcription.
