Hawkins book is wrong assigning Jerusha to Thomas Rogers and Desire Downs becuase I don't think its even possible for them to be her parents. Thomas Rogers and Desire Downs are buried Hawkins-Downs Cemetery, Moriches, LI, NY check available pictures of their tombstones on-line Thomas Rogers born December 20, 1752 Waterford, New Haven Co., CT died November 16, 1837 Desire Downs born Abt. 1757 died Speonk January 03, 1832 I think you will agree they could not be Jerusha Ann's parents? December 09, 1884 I am trying to obtain a copy of the Downs Genealogy book that written in 1975 that should have more information about Thomas Rogers the 'Loyalist' and Desire Downs. He mentions Elizabeth Halsey married Nicholas Rogers and names 10 children But in the Halsey book he says two settle in Beaver Dam. I just point this out since its in the area of your interest.
