Bridget Joyce is head of the household. Austin is her son and Cora is her daughter-in-law. Bridget is 71 years old and indicates she (or whoever was giving the information to the census taker) does not know the date of her birth. Austin is 34 and was born in Octobber of 1864, and Cora is 34 and born in July, 1865. Austin and Cora have been married for two years and have no children. Bridget has had five children, and only two are still living. Bridget was born in Ireland, Austin in Michigan and Cora in New York. Both of Bridget’s and both of Austin’s parents were born in Irelend. Cora’s father was born in New York and her mother in Canada/English. Bridget is a washer woman and Austin a furniture packer. Bridget indicates she immigrated to the United States in 1835 and has lived here 65 years.
Record number1224 book 8 page 317 Kent County Death Records states that Bridget Joyce died on 26 Sep 1912 in Grand Rapids of senile gangrene. She was 89, a widow and was born in Ireland. Her father was named ? Toot. Mrs. Edward Joyce of 1467 Kalamazoo was the informant. She was buried in St. Andrews Cemetery on 30 september 1912.
Bridget was buried at St. Andrew's Cemetery on the same lot with Austin, Gaylord, Harold E., and Madlyn Joyce Sullivan.
