• Notes

  Matthew Sinderland was a mariner of Boston and Rhode Island. He acquired certain tracts of land in Hashamomack (in Southold Town) and Oyster Bay, which eventually (by way of the wives) became the subject of litigation by John Conklin on behalf of Sarah Horton Salmon Conklin and William Salmon's children (see John Conklin).
