New Haven (Congregational Society), New Haven, CT

Notes:
The Great Awakening of the 1730’s and 1740’s caused a split in the original New Haven Congregational Society, resulting in the erection of another Congregational church on the New Haven Green to the north. In 1814, the Episcopalians built Trinity Church on the Green to the south, and First Church, situated in the middle became known as Center Church.

Therefore, event place references just to the New Haven "Congregational Society" after about 1730/40 are ambiguous, and may refer either to the First Congregational Society (First Church or now aka Center Church on the Green), or to the Second Congregational Society (North Church, now aka United Church on the Green).
