• Notes

  Little has been found on either George or Francis Harper, both likely mariners, and one clearly lost at sea. The died a month apart. My suspicion is that they were related, and both sojourner victims of a ship wreck off Fire Island. Why their death dates are different is unexplained. A search of references on Fire Island ship wrecks has not yet found their names.
