Brookhaven Couple Repent of Divorce And Are Remarried:
Miss Etna Borger Becomes Bride of Joseph Heinbeck for Second Time in Quiet Family Ceremony.
An unusual wedding ceremony was performed in Brookhaven Saturday evening when Miss Etna Borger, formerly of that village, and Joseph Heinbeck of Brookhaven were re-united in marriage by the Rev. Karl Arthur Nelson of the Rosewood community church of Bayside, formerly of the Brookhaven Methodist church.
The marriage took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Swezey of South Country road, Mrs. Swezey being matron-of-honor and Mr. Swezey, best man. Because of the ill health of Mrs. Swezey, who is confined to a couch, the ceremony was a quiet one with the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kresge of Patchogue the only guests.
A pretty setting was arranged before the fireplace of the living-room which was banked with white flowers and tall white candles. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Kresge who also sang, "I Love You Truly."
Mr. and Mrs. Heinbeck separated a year ago and a divorce was obtained, and although the decree had not become absolute, Mrs. Heinbeck had legally resumed her maiden name. They decided later that their break-up was a mistake, so they would resume the marriage career.
Mrs. Heinbeck is secretary to Douglas E. Skidmore, attorney-at-law of Patchogue, and Mr. Heinbeck is employed by the Main Street Bakery of Patchogue. They are living in the Heinbeck cottage on South Country road, Brookhaven, which was recently occupied by Mr. and Mrs. John Gould.
