Richard L. Fuka, Sr., 83, of Brookhaven, NY on November 3rd, 2012.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (nee King); children Jane Hayes, Richard L. (& Lori) Fuka, Jr., and David (& Shelly) Fuka and five grandchildren.
Richard was a 43 year employee of Brookhaven National Laboratory, working diligently and proudly in the Photography and Graphic Arts Department until his retirement in 1991.
Richard was a master woodworker and craftsman, restoring antiques and building everything from furniture, dollhouses, and backyard sheds to the kitchen cupboards in his beloved Cape Cod style home. Gardening, bird-watching, and walking the trails of the Carmen's River Preserves were among his favorite past-times.
Family to receive friends from 10:30am to 12 noon on Saturday (November 10th) at the Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue, NY. Burial service to be held privately.
