CELEBRATED 90TH BIRTHDAY
Mrs. Hannah Raynor, of Huntington, Well and Happy, Too.
Monday, Mrs. Hannah Raynor, Huntington's oldest woman resident, celebrated her ninetieth birthday in a quiet but pleasant manner, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. S. Washburn, Green street. She is unusually spry for one her age, and answed the ring of the doorbell several times herself, when quite a large number of friends and neighbors called in to pay regards to one of the finest old ladies that ever lived. She was also remembered with several handsome presents and a postcard shower.
Mrs. Raynor was assisted in celebrating by her three living daughters, Mrs. Washburn, Mrs. George Nesbitt of Brookhaven, and Mrs. John Carman of Babylon, and by her stepson, John B. Raynor, of Brooklyn, and his wife.
Except for slight deafness, and an occasional touch of rheumatism, Mrs. Raynor is unusually active. She is always cheerful. She is a native of Fire Place, now Brookhaven, where she was born on December 8, 1822, the daughter of Leverett and Caherine Brown Reeves, good old Long Island names. Her parents were sterling Methodists, and she united with that church seventy years ago. Up to a few years ago she was a great church worker.
Mrs. Raynor was married twice. Her first husband was Stephen Craft, of New York City. Five children were born to them. Mrs. Washburn and Mrs. Carman are the survivors. Her second husband was Edward Raynor, of Fire Place. Mrs. George Nesbit, of Brookhaven, is the daughter by this marriage.
