  He was a Patentee of the Town of Brookhaven, Long Island, NY. He inherited his father's estate and, like his father, was a Magistrate for many years; he was usually styled "Justice Wodhull." Like his father and grandfather before him, Richard Wodhull III., lived the life of a cultured gentleman. -- MERGED NOTE ------------ BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH III. RICHARD WODHULL, (III.), (Hon.), third generation from Richard Wodhull I., Patentee of Brookhaven, Long Island, was the eldest son of Richard Wodhull II., and Temperance Fordham. He was born November 2, 1691. He inherited his father';s estate and, like his father, was a Magistrate for many years; he was usually styled "Justice Wodhull." ; He married Mary, daughter of John Homan; they had two daughters and five sons. Like his father and grandfather before him, Richard Wodhull III., lived the life of a cultured gentleman. He died November 24, 1767, his wife surviving his loss but a year.
