In 1775, signed engagement to support Congress. He was also a Revolutionary soldier, being present at the battle of Yorktown, and at the surrender of Cornwallis. Washington once tested his fidelity as a guard by attempting to pass him in the night, but he would not allow him to pass, and afterward received commendations for his fidelity. He was then known and received his pension under the name of Currin.

Was daughter of William, brother of Maj. Peter Hallock [that is, Hannah was Major Peter Hallock's niece]. Was born about 1768. Married Richard Corwin Dec. 31, 1789 in Aquebogue, L.I. Had son:
I. Richard Corwin Jr., born about 1790, died in Brookhaven in March, 1882. He had son Sylvester N. who had son Chester D. Corwin of N. Y. City.
