Samuel W. Sayres, Rector of St. John's Church in Far Rockaway, performed the Episcopal Rites. Witnesses were: Thomas Rainey and Grace Priscilla Ogden Rainey. Grace was a sister of Emily Fairlie Ogden Nelson, mother of Norman.

Alfred and Alice were married at "High Point," 9 Devon Road, Lawrence Park West, Bronxville, NY on Bastille Day, 14 July 1934. Her father, Charles Sperry Andrews wanted to make a trip abroad with Alice's brothers Sperry and David (the youngest, Florie, was to be left in the care of her nurse). The story goes that arrangements were made in rather a hurry so that "CS" could make his trip. A garden wedding, Easter Lilies planted in the garden (in full bloom in July!). Her sister May was her maid of honor and Florie was the bridesmaid.

July 14 is the date set for the wedding of Miss Alice Andrews, daughter of Charles Sperry Andrews of Bronxville, and Alfred Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fairlee Nelson of Beaver Dam road, Brookhaven. The ceremony is to take place in Christ Protestant Episcopal church, Bronxville, and will be followed by a small reception at Miss Andrews' home. Miss Andrews and Mr. Nelson were guests of Prince and Princess Irbain-Khan Kaplanoff at a luncheon on Wednesday at Woodhull house, their residence at Southampton.
