      Frank A. Champlain, 60 died at his home on Beaver Dam road, Brookhaven, January 17, after and extended illness.

      Born in East Hampton, son of the late William and Amalia Champlain, he had been a resident of Brookhaven for 38 years. During this time he served as school clerk, a Republican county committeeman and was active in the Fire Department, serving as the fire commissioner, a position he had held for the past eight years. He was head dispatcher of the Ambulance company for the past six years and was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He organized and was chairman of the Brookhaven Town Blood bank.

      Mr. Champlain is survived by his wife, Phyllis Fraser, two sons Philip and Geoffrey, both of Brookhaven; two daughters, Mrs. David McCutcheon of Brookhaven and Mrs. Nelson Downs of Terryville; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Howland of Patchogue, and Mrs. Lewis Henriques of Vally Stream and 11 grandchildren.
