George Buell Barteau, aged 92, a native of Blue Point, who had lived in this vicinity for many years before moving to Brooklyn, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edith Toombs of 1200 Pacific street, Brooklyn.
Mr. Barteau, a retired mason and contractor, was the son of the late Buell and Clarissa Haaf Barteau, and the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Isabelle Swezey Barteau.
Besides Mrs. Toombs, he leaves three other daughters, Miss Clara Barteau of Islip, Mrs. Josephine Smith of Bayport and Mrs. Mary Waggoner of Sedalin, Mo.; two sons, Ernest B. Barteau of Vancouver, B.C., and George E. Barteau of Cutchogue, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service is to be held at 2 p.m. today in the C.W. Ruland Sons Funeral chapel, Patchogue, the Rev. Arthur H. Cooke, of the Patchogue Congregational church, officiating, with interment in Woodland cemetery, Bellport.
