• Notes

  Christopher Youngs was known in Southold as "Senior" to distinguish him from his cousin, Christopher Youngs, Junior (Youngs No. 26), who was born in 1643. He signed his name both Youngs and Yongs, but his cousin made his mark. (Selah Youngs) [There appears to be some uncertainty as to the name of Christophers first wife, and the assignment of the mothers of his children. They are recorded here based on what seems to be the prevailing conventional wisdom. Since this family is outside the scope of my primary research interest, I will leave it to others to sort out.]
