• Notes

  [While not proved, the parents of Sarah A. Tuthill recorded in the 1850 Fire Place (now Brookhaven Hamlet) census were likely Elisha Tuthill (b. 8 Feb 1805) and Harriet Rogers (b. 13 Jul 1807). In Alva M. Tuttle's Tuthill compilation, she would be the only likely candidate. She was of the correct age, her mother's maiden name was Rogers, and the family was of the Eastport/Remensburg/Speonk area 15 miles to the east of Fire Place.
