      N. Blair Munhofen, of Williamsburg, Va., a longtime resident of Brookhaven Hamlet, died February 14 at the age of 95. Born and raised in Nebraska, Blair graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in electrical engineering. When the United States entered World War II, he was called to active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served with distinction in applying radar technology to bomber aircraft. During the war, Blair married Joan Tuthill, formerly of Patchogue, in Columbia, S.C. They lived in Dayton, Ohio, where Blair was attached to Wright-Patterson Field. After the war, they moved to Patchogue. During the Korean War, he was recalled to active duty and served as a major in the U.S. Air Force's weapons development program, again at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. With the cessation of hostilities, he was released from active duty and began employment at Brookhaven National Laboratory as administrator in the chemistry department from 1953-1990.

Survivors include his wife, Joan, his daughter, Judith and husband, Ed Rappe; his son, Nicholas and wife, Janet; his four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John T. Tuthill of Bellport.
