CHARLES M. HAWKINS
Charles M. Hawkins, age 81, a farmer of South Country road, Brookhaven, died last Thursday in the South Shore Convalescent home, Patchogue, after a lingering illness. Born in Brookhaven, he had been a lifelong resident of the village.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary H. Hawkins of Brookhaven; a daughter, Miss Harriet M. Hawkins of Brookhaven; six sons, Morris Hawkins, Clarence E. Hawkins, James A. Hawkins, Jesse E. Hawkins, all of Brookhaven, Clifford L. Hawkins of Whitesboro, N. Y., and Ernest Hawkins of Annapolis, Md., and a sister, Mrs. Jesse Johnson of Brookhaven.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Brookhaven Methodist church, with its former pastor, the Rev. Harold Jones of Southampton, officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery, Brookhaven.
