South Haven, L.I., Februaqry 14--The funeral services of Mrs. Emily Carman, wife of Charles Carman, were held here this afternoon, the Rev. Jacob Probst officiating. Mrs. Carman died Tuesday, aged 82 years. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter and a son. Interment at Yaphank. [S198] Echo, Port Jefferson, NY,,, 21 Feb 1914, p. 5. W. R. Carman was called to Brookhaven on Friday last to attend the funeral of his mother, who died the previous Tuesday, at the age of 82 years. She was seated in a chair that evening when she sustained a stroke of apoplexy and fell to the floor dead. Services were held at her late residence and the remains taken to the Yaphank cemetery for interment. Deceased is survived by her husband and two children, W.R. Carman of this village and Miss Louise B. Carman of Brookhaven. Mrs. Carman was born at Brookhaven, known at that time as Fire Place, and has always resided there, where she was greatly respected by all who knew her. John Rose, descendant of Robert Rose of Southampton and East Hampton, Long Island, married Elisabeth Rose, daughter of the Rev. David Rose ... of the Branford and Wethersfield, Connecticut, family.
