      MRS. ELLEN C. MILLER.

Mrs Ellen C. Miller, widow of the late Nathaniel Miller, died Friday at her home in Brookhaven, aged 87 years. Funeral services were held at 1.30 Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian Chapel in that village and interment was made in the family plot at the homestead. The officiating clergy was the Rev. Mr. Allen of the South Haven Presbyterian Church, of which the deceased was long a member. The Rev. Mr. Cornish of the Brookhaven Methodist Church sang.

Mrs. Miller was previous to her marriage Ellen Carman, daughter of Samuel Carman, who lived on Carman Avenue opposite to old Presbyterian Church of South Haven on the place now owned by Henry Carman. Mrs. Miller was born there December 21, 1827. She is survived by three sons, Fred W. Miller of Babylon, N. Clinton Miller and George Miller of Brookhaven. Three brothers also survive, Charles Carman of Southaven, Henry Carman of Patchogue and Robert Carman of Brookhaven, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Carman of Amityville. Mrs. Miller's husband, who died in 1896, was well known, having been formerly supervisor of the town.

While Kate Miller was prefixed as "Mrs.," there is no evidence that she married.

The Miller Family Cemetery is an approximately 50 ft. east-west x 85 ft. north-south plot located about 400 ft. east of Fire Place Neck Rd., between the Brookhaven Elementary School property and Brook Nursery Rd. (at the rear of 19 Fire Place Neck Road, just east of the large sump). There is a right of way from Fire Place Neck Rd. to the cemetery just north of the residential property, but it is not passable; access the the cemetery is gained through the backyard of the residence. This land was once all the Miller family farm, then became the Brook Nursery. It is now mostly residential housing.
