(1.) Nathaniel Woodhull Foster, born September 24, 1835;
married, September 22, 1858, Fannie, daughter of Sylvester
Miller and Emily Tuthill, of Wading River, Long
Island. She was born in the year 1838, and died October
16, 1888. He is at the present time, the President
of the Suffolk County Historical Society. (1904.)
They had four children:
Warren William Foster, born July 26, 1859. Graduated
from Dartmouth College in 1881. General Secretary
of the Dewey Celebration in New York City. Was
elected Judge of the Court of General Sessions, in New
York City, in 1899, for a term of fourteen years.
Millicent Fanning Foster, born March 17, 1863.
Sylvester Miller Foster, born January 30, 1865, is in business
with his father (N. W. Foster & Son) at Riverhead,
Long Island, is also Cashier of the Riverhead Bank, and
Secretary of the Suffolk County Agricultural Society.
He married, June 5, 1889, Alice, daughter of Holmes
W. Sweezy, of Amityville, Long Island. They had two
children:
Stanhope Foster, born November 22, 1890.
Alma Foster, born October 29, 1894.
Herman Daggett Foster, Jr., born September 15, 1869,
and died July 28, 1870.
Fannie Estelle Foster, born November 14, 1870.
