Miss Barbara Gertrude Kerr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kerr of Middletown, Conn., formerly of Bellport, and Robert Ellis Wayte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wayte of Brookhaven, were married in the bride's home on Saturday at 4 o'clock. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. George L. Withey of the Methodist church. ... The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. William Valentine, (the former Miss Virginia Kerr). ... ... the couple will live in an apartment hotel in Middletown. Mr. Wayte is employed in Pratt and Whitney company in East Hartford, Conn. Mr. and Mrs. Wayte were both graduated from the Bellport High school in June, 1943. Mr. Kerr is survived by his wife, Bernice, his daughters Mrs. August Waldron of Bellport, Mrs. William Valentine of Shirley and Mrs. Robert Wayte of Bellport; his sister, Mrs. Helen Rheinhardt of Farmingdale, and his brother, Ernest Kerr of Patchogue. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Bellport Fire Department conducted a service at the Pettit and Carman Home, Patchogue.
