  [S49] Long Island Advance (Long Island Advance, 20 Medford Ave, Patchogue, NY), 29 Jan 1948, p. 13. Mrs. Jessie A. Ellis, age 83, died at her home, 436 West main street, Patchogue, last Thursday. She was born in England and had lived in this vicinity for 25 years. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Harry Burroughs of England, Mrs. Nellie Wood of Landsdowne, Pa., Mrs. Queenie Beck of Patchogue, and Mrs. Ethel Hewett of California; three sons, William of Patchogue, and Alfred and Charles of Medford; and several grandchildren. The Rev. Carl Gernannt, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran church, Patchogue, officiated at services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ruland chapel. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery, Brookhaven.
