John- I just came across the photo of a gravestone for Elmer and Mary in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Elmer and Mary were the children of Wm.Shepard and Minnie Palmer Newey. They were about one and two years old when they both went into convulsions one night and died before medical help could be secured. I believe their remains were later moved to Cedar Grove Cemetery in Patchogue and interred with their father. This information was relayed to me by my grandmother, Eva Newey Hiler, their sister. Their connection to Robert Brown was through his wife, Josephine, who was Minnie Newey's oldest daughter.
