Walter, who perhaps m. 1st Abigail, (Brown?), who d 5 Oct 1721; 2nd Mary Youngs on 12 Jan 1723-4, who d. 14 April 1735; and 3d, Mehitable Horton, (Jonathan [3], Capt. Jonathan [2], Barnatas [1]), b. in 1712, m. on 2 Dec., 1743. A da. of Walter, Jr's., d. 20 March, 1746, æ 9. It is possible that some of the above entries belong to Walter, son of William, No. 4, but according to the Brown Records of Orient, Walter, son of Walter, and grandson of Lieut. Richard Brown, was married three times. His son John[4] was the ancestor of Mr. Marcus B. Brown, of Orient. The said John[4] is supposed to have married Zipporah[6] Brown, da. of Richard and Zipporah (Tuthill) Brown. The compiler of this Record believes that at least one generation of John's ancestry has been omitted.

5. Walter Brown, of Southold. ... Walter was perhaps a widower in 1698, living with his sons Daniel and Joseph, as all three are mentioned together in the Census of that year.
That "Walter was perhaps a widower...." infers that he likely had a whife prior to Jane Conklin, whose name is unknown.
