Before the Revolution he lived in New Haven and Wallingford; after in Southington. He served in the French and Indian War, from Mar to Nov 1760 in Capt. Joel Clark’s 11th Co., 2nd Regt.; from Apr to Nov 1761 in Col. Nathan Whiting’s 1st Co., 2nd Regt.; from Mar to Nov 1762 in Capt. Eldad Lewis’s 7th Co., 2nd Regt.; and from Mar to Dec 1764 in Capt. Abraham Foote’s 2nd Co., Lieut.-Col. Putnam’s Battalion. In the Revolutionary War, he served in Capt. Isaac Cook’s Wallingford Co., 1775; was in the Conn. Line between 1777 and 1781, residence stated as New Haven.
