      Nuptial: Carman-Ringhoff

A pretty Easter bride was Miss Elizabeth Hilda Ringhoff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Ringhoff of East Moriches when united in marriage to Kenneth Redfield Carman, son of Mrs. Joseph Carman of Brookhaven, at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at St. John's R. C. Church. Center Moriches, by the Rev Thomas Scanlon. Following the singing of "O Promise Me" by Mrs. Frederick Swezey of Brookhaven the bridal party marched to the alter to music of Mendelsohn's wedding march played by Mrs. John Gould of Bellport. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, with lace veil caught with orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and lilies of the valley.

She was attended by Mrs. Edward Ringhoff of Baldwin as matron-of-honor, who wore pink satin and lace with hat and carried pink roses and delphiniums. The bridesmaids, Misses Frances and Virginia Gillis of Westwood, N. J., wore pretty satin and lace gowns of maize and of nile green green with hats to match and carried bouquets pf pastel colored sweet peas.

The flower girls, Helen Stegman of East Moriches and Janice Stuke of Teaneck, wore white crepe de chine dresses and white Malines hats and carried baskets of rose petals.

Frederick Swezey of Brookhaven was best man. The ushers were Gray Kirby of Lynbrook and Edward Ringhoff of Baldwin. The church was beautifully decorated with Easter lilies and other lovely flowers.

Following the ceremony, the bridal party and 50 guests enjoyed reception, chicken dinner and dancing at Joe's Restaurant, Eastport. Francis Lachall furnished music with his orchestra. There was a large white frosted, three-tiered bride's cake with bridal couple, and the place cards were white rose candy baskets.

Later in the evening the young couple, who were popular throughout this section left amid a shower of rice for a motor trip to Washington, D. C. They will reside in East Moriches, being at home after April 28. The groom is a boat builder and the bride is a partner in the Hilda-Margaret beauty parlor in Sayville. They received lovely gifts of money, silverware, linens and furniture.
