Her death was rather mysterious. She was found in a kneeling position in a hallway in her fifth floor apartment in Harlem. She had lived alone for about one year. The apartment owner had just posted a notice to move because for about two weeks she had had a large crowd of men and women coming to her apartment and raising a lot of noise bothering other tenants. The janitors wife had seen her in her apartment on Friday acting in a dazed condition. Mr. Hotchkin appeared almost immediately after her body was found and said that he and his wife had been married for about 4 1/2 years but had not lived together for the last year.
