  [Little information has so far been found on Arnold Rose. Except for the article referenced, I have found no other record of a military involvement in World War II. My suspicion is that the surname Rose was an Anglicization of an immigrant name, perhaps Polish or Russian. Additional information would be appreciated.] [It also appears as if his residence in Brookhaven Hamlet may have been short; his principal place of residence appears to have been Patchogue, NY, about five miles to the west.]

  [S49] 25 Oct 1945. p. 16. Four Brookhaven Men Finish Army Service Four residents of Brookhaven have completed their military service recently. Pvt. William Christ has received an honorable discharge from the Army and returned to his home on South Country road. Pfc. Stanley Kalinowski has received his honorable discharge from the Army and returned to his home on Railroad avenue. He has been serving in Europe. Cpl. Arnold Rose has been given his honorable discharge and arrived at his home on Fireplace Neck road. Pfc. Edward Cornell, honorably discharged, has arrived at his home on Yaphank avenue. He was in Europe with the Army.
