Alfred A Brown, 74, of South Country road, Brookhaven, died after an extended illness at his home Saturday.
Born in Bellport, he lived in this vicinity all his life. He was a retired bayman.
He is survived by his wife, Lottie of Brookhaven; a daughter, Mrs. Malcalm Shand of Blue Point; four brothers, Robert and Ernest of Bellport, Clarence of Maryland and Forrest of Massachusetts; two sisters, Mrs. Grover Bishop and Mrs. Louis Weidner, both of Bellport; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pettit Funeral home, Patchogue, with the Rev. Stuart W. Van Cott, pastor of the Patchogue Congregational church officiating. Interment was in the Yaphank cemetery, Yaphank.
