Imitating Bessie Bonehill
The following appeared in the Brooklyn Eagle on Wednesday evening:
"Miss Ani Hill is closely guarded while doing her act at the Gotham Theater, and while on her way to and from her hotel to the theater. She is imitating the late Bessie Bonehill, whose costume she wears and whose songs she sings. It is over the costumes and songs that an injunction has been threatened, and it is to prevent this, which would compel the canceling of the present engagement, that the precautions are taken.
Mrs. Geoffrey Well, daughter of Bessie Bonehill, accompanied by her brother, visited the Gotham Theater and viewed the performance, which she claimed was illegal, as Ani Hill was not a daughter of Bessie Bonehill, and she threatened to interrupt the engagement.
"Mrs. Geoffrey Weller" is likely Marion Seeley. The other daughter, Selina was reported to have married Benjamin Silverman, and this family was found in the 1910 Federal census.
