Mrs. Helena S. Gillespie, 65, died at her home on Montauk highway, Brookhaven, on July 17 after an extended illness.
A rosary service was held Sunday at 8 p.m. at the residence. The Rev. Matthew J. Dunne was the celebrant at a solemn requiem mass at Mary Immaculate R.C. church, Bellport, at 10 a.m. on Monday. Interment followed in Brookhaven cemetery.
Mrs. Gillespie is survived by two sons, Edward of Yonkers and Frederick of Brookhaven; six daughters, Mrs. Clarence White of Southampton, Mrs. Byford Lee of East Patchogue, Mrs. Arthur Caldwell and Mrs. James Fucci of Brookhaven, Mrs. Stephen Donato of Patchogue, and Mrs. George Pusins of East Patchogue; one brother, Patrick Kearney of White Plains, and one sister, Miss Ettie Kearney of Dublin, Ireland; also 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
